Finally Going Abroad! - Blog Assignment #1

Ah~ South Korea.

My first experience abroad! It has always been a dream of mine to travel around the world, but I never really had the opportunity to do so until now. Nothing can stop me, not even the cutest cat in the world. She really doesn't want me to leave her. I'm sorry, Mogu!

The Ulsan International Program is a great chance to experience South Korean language and culture in a safe and comfortable environment. I'm really excited to meet the other international students and exchange stories about our home towns. Learning more about South Korean language and culture, how their hierarchical society works, and improving my Korean language abilities are some of my goals during my trip. Because I'm interested in cultural psychology and the development of languages, I believe this summer program will be very beneficial to my education and future career goals.

Confidence while traveling abroad can be really hard to find, especially if you've never been away from your home country. Fortunately for me, I've traveled a lot within the United States, at least enough to feel comfortable being on my own far away from home. In addition to this, my Korean language skills, though no where near fluency, and my experience using the subway system in New York City will definitely help while traveling around the country.

Though my departure from the United States was a while ago, tomorrow will be the start of my fun adventure in Ulsan, South Korea. I got to experience some fun times in Germany and Switzerland, so maybe I'll have a chance to share some of those photos soon.

다음에 봐요~ (See you next time~)
